Welcome

This is the website for the project ‘Forest4Climate&People: Putting local people at the centre of decisions about forest conservation and restoration’.

The ultimate aim of this project is to ensure forest carbon programmes are more effective (can lock up more carbon) and pro-poor (avoid negative impacts on poor, vulnerable people and, where possible, bring benefits).

This is an eighteen-month project financed by CLARE (the CLimate and REsilience Framework Programme); a UKaid programme. The project builds on and develops impact from the social sciences aspects of the work carried out under the ESPA programme during the p4ges project (Can Paying 4 Global Ecosystem Services Reduce Poverty).
